TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Tony Faraci proudly shows off the trophies won by the Lansingburgh High School Varsity Bowling team.
Both the boys and girls teams are powerhouses. The boys are this year’s state champions.
“We are very proud of our bowling program. It has very strong roots in the community, and it’s devastating that we lost our home house.”
Faraci says their “home house” had been the local landmark bowling alley Alpha Lanes. That was before Wednesday morning when it went up in flames and then burned to the ground.
The coaches are now reluctantly searching for a new home for their winning teams.
“We will find a place and find a new home,” he added.
Troy Fire Chief Eric McMahon told NEWS10 ABC that it’s unlikely they will ever know what started the fire due to the intensity of the blaze.
