CDTA is trying out electric buses in the Capital Region

The Capital District Transportation Authority said it’s going to try out electric buses in the Capital Region.

Expected to launch in late Spring/early Summer of 2019, the CDTA said it will try out four buses in the area in a pilot program to gauge success.

According to CDTA’s Chief Executive Officer Carm Basile, “we’re really excited about electric buses. We’ve been talking about it for quite some time.”

The idea behind the pilot program was due to the community’s desire for more eco-friendly options in the region.
