Two arrests have now been made following the removal of 100 animals from a home on Campbells Avenue in Troy in December.
David Hempstead and Michele Hempstead, both from Troy, have been arrested and charged with 17 counts of injuring an animal. Michele is also facing two additional charges.
The Hempstead’s were arraigned in Troy City Court and released. They are scheduled to appear back in court at a later date.
Police say the condition of many of the animals has improved and many have been adopted. Many were taken to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society.
