Albany man sentenced to 7.5-15 years in connection with 2018 homicide


ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Shakir Redmon, the man responsible for Albany’s first homicide of 2018 was sentenced Thursday in Albany County Court to 7.5 to 15 years in state prison

Redmon, 28, of Albany, pleaded guilty to one count of second degree conspiracy in March, admitting to using another person’s car to carry out the crime.

In January 2018, Redmon opened fire at the intersection of Quail and First Streets. 35-year-old Anthony Malloy was crossing the street when he was hit and killed by Redmon.
