The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office arrested two people they say endangered the welfare of a child.
Police say Eugene Erb, 47, and Barbara Erb, 44, the adoptive parents of a 13-year-old girl, failed to seek medical attention after she sustained second and third-degree burns over a significant portion of her body.
The alleged incident took place in July 2016.
Both were charged with endangering the welfare of a child. Police say they both turned themselves in with their attorney Michael Smrtic.
The investigation into the cause of the injuries to the teen is ongoing. Police say additional charges are expected.
