A new life for a former Albany Church

Local

The former Catholic Church on Green St. has sat empty for a decade, slowly going to ruin.  Now the county has transferred the property to Chiou Development Group, who is planning to invest $3 million to transform the old church into 20 affordable apartments.

This is just the start of new push to revitalize the south end.  The old DMV on South Pearl will be turned into the new Board of Election office and a push is moving forward to bring in a non-profit grocery store.
