At last weekend’s 518 Gives fundraiser, donors who made a pledge of $100 or more to the Center for Disabilities Services were entered into a drawing for a special “Big Game Package”… including tickets to Sunday’s Super Bowl.
The winners gathered Thursday at the Center’s Langan School, where students presented them with their game day tickets. Though the lucky winners may not all be rooting for the same team, they say they’re all very excited to be heading to the big game live and in-person for the first time ever.
“It’s something I never thought I would do,” said Marc Appelbaum, from Castleton. “It’s sort of a bucket list item, and the way we are doing it is unbelievable so it’s sort of a very exciting opportunity.”
Appelbaum and the other big winners will also receive free airfare, hotel accommodations, and invitations to special pre and post-game parties as part of the package.
Sunday’s fundraiser raised a record amount of money for the Center… over $2 million.
