Local blood drive held to support veterans

On Monday, the Albany Stratton VA Medical Center held a blood drive to help reach their yearly goal of 300 units.

The center provides for the health care needs of veterans in 22 counties of upstate New York, western Massachusetts and Vermont.

Working with the American Red Cross, if the center reaches the blood unit goal set by the organization they’ll receive blood at a lower cost.

They hold regular blood drives with the next one scheduled for May 20, 2019. For more information, visit their website.
