ATLANTA, (NEWS10) – It’s been a little over two weeks since Ian Anderson’s life changed completely with the announcement that he had been selected third overall in the 2016 MLB draft by the Atlanta Braves.
The Shenendahowa star right-hander’s dreams of playing pro baseball became a reality that day, and Saturday it became official.
Anderson and the Braves agreed to terms of a pro contract, which Anderson is expected to sign if all goes well at his physical later Saturday.
The deal would make the 18-year-old pitcher a very wealthy young man. His signing bonus is expected to be $4 million.
Before graduating on Thursday, Ian helped pitch the Plainsmen to Shen’s first ever New York State baseball championship.
