(CNN) – Google is closer to getting rid of the traditional password.
Google’s Director of Google’s Advanced Technology and Project Team Dan Kaufman said the company is testing out new password-replacement technology with “several very large financial institutions.”
The program called TRUST API would use multiple sensors in your smartphone to determine whether it’s actually you trying to login.
A bank application would require a higher recognition score than a social media app on your phone.
TRUST API would be even more advanced the already existing smart lock on the Google Android operating system. That system uses sensors that can scan your face, your face, and even how you walk.
The TRUST API tech would be constantly operating in the background of your phone and would even know if it’s you swiping on your phone, according to reports.
Kaufman said at the annual Google Conference that it could be available to Android developers around the world by the end of the year.
