GUILDERLAND, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A local father, who is in desperate need of a heart transplant, received help from his friends and family on Saturday.

Courtney Rosencrans was born with heart defects that over time, have forced him to stop working, all with a young family to support. Now he needs a costly, but vital transplant and his loved ones held a dinner fundraiser at the Guilderland Elks Lodge to help cover the cost.

“It’s just truly amazing and it’s like so hard for my son to ask for help and when he heard of all the raffle items and the people helping out he was truly amazed,” said Courtney’s mother, Rita Rosencrans.

The event included dinner, a cash bar, and 50-50 raffle.
