SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Daija’s Doll volunteers repair gently-used American Girl dolls and give them to children in foster care.
Started by Ann Jackson, a foster parent, who came up with the idea to repurpose the costly item after her foster child, Daija, really wanted an American Girl doll.
From donations to her own shopping endeavors, she hasn’t had trouble tracking down American Girl dolls like Julie, Josefina and Samantha.
And Ann says it’s not too hard or costly for her and her volunteers to give them a makeover.
