Boy Scout’s little food pantry making big impact

Built by Boy Scout Jakob Quail, the small food pantry is housed at The Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Clifton Park.

The case is stocked with non-perishable items, like cereal and peanut butter, and it re-stocked regularly via donations.

According to Pastor Jeff Silvernail, the little food pantry is making a big impact in the community. The idea for the pantry was inspired by the popularity of free mini libraries.

The project was a part of Jakob obtaining his Citizenship in the Community Merit badge and is open 24 hours a day year-round.
