ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – New legislation aimed at fighting the heroin epidemic is only a signature away from becoming law.

Both the New York State Senate and New York State Assembly have agreed on a bill that will allow New York to track non-fatal heroin and opioid overdoses.

It will require the New York State Department of Heath to keep a record of how many people survive an overdose for a more complete picture of the state’s heroin epidemic.
