AVERILL PARK, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Students and staff had quite the scare at Algonquin Middle School on Wednesday when an 8th grader needed CPR during gym class.
They say the student suffered a cardiac issue during PE class during a morning run.
The Averill Park gym teachers and Nurse Lanoue responded immediately to provide CPR to stabilize the student until the ambulance arrived.
The school says the student is alert and responsive and receiving the proper medical attention at the hospital.
