ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — City leaders in Albany are considering additional steps to improve pedestrian safety. Councilmember Gabriella Romero introduced a bill that would require the city to install crosswalk signals that automatically go off.

Supporters said it would improve safety for people with disabilities and others who struggle to use the buttons at crosswalks. The city has also looked into installing speed bumps and lowering the speed limit.
