Garbage truck cleared from I-787 after crash over barrier

Albany County

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – A county waste truck has been removed from southbound Interstate 787 on Friday, after an early morning crash impacted morning commuters.

Shocking images showed the truck on the Exit 3A ramp sitting halfway over the left side railing.

Fluid appeared to be leaking from the truck onto the sidewalk on Broadway under the ramp. It was cleaned up by crews.

New York State Trooper Kerra Burns says the crash happened around 4 A.M., and the driver, taken to Albany Med for evaluation, has minor injuries.

Albany Fire Department, NYSP, and a number of crane trucks were on scene. The truck was towed away shortly before 10 A.M.
