Albany County judge resigns amid investigation

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A judge in the Albany County Court, who is currently under investigation, has resigned.

Judge William Carter is accused of trying to have the pistol permit application of a friend assigned to himself. He denies the allegation.

Judge Carter’s term wasn’t scheduled to expire until the end of 2026.
