This is a conversation I have with people EVERY. SINGLE. YEAR! I am a firm believer in the low and slow way of cooking the turkey.
My mom always used to put the bird in the oven around 2 a.m., and cook it all night long, slowly and on a low temperature. We would wake up to the smell of turkey in the house, and it was the greatest thing ever. So that is how I cook my bird now. Low and slow. It comes out juicy and tender and is the best.
Of course I have friends who think that this dries the bird out and the only way to go is to cook it quickly and on a higher heat. I think that dries it out, and again, I have this discussion every year.
So this year, I ask you. How do you cook your bird. Low and slow, or high and fast? I’m curious to see if others do it my way, or the wrong way. Just kidding…kind of.

Well, I’m with Alexandria all the way. Low and slow is the way to cook the bird. It’s funny her mom used to cook the turkey over night because my mom did too. Of course, we used to have 24 people at our dinner so it was a HUGE bird. But now even with our small turkey, I still go low and slow like Alexandria. What about you?
