9-11 Undocumented workers could be protected by proposed legislation


NEW YORK (NEWS10) – Four New York Congress members are aiming to protect undocumented workers who helped in the rescue, recovery and clean-up of September 11th.

The proposed legislation would give undocumented workers who were called to Ground Zero, legal permanent resident status.

The legislation comes after a World Trade Center cleanup volunteer was freed from immigration detention last month
