The latest Storm Tracker Forecast from Meteorologist Steve Caporizzo.

Well sometimes storms do throw curve balls at us-this one did just that. After the initial burst of snow moved through-a dry slot developed cutting off the precip. The next round will come in this evening-but it will quickly changeover to sleet-then rain. It could be mostly rain in the Capital Region southward-and then basically taper off around midnight.

Some Early snow amounts—-Mostly north and east…..

Locally Coating to 1/2″

Here is a brief explanation as to what happened with the forecast today-some a bit unusual, and non of our models showed this happening, and when they did, it was too late. At least we caught it for the evening news. worth a watch-dry/warmer air aloft-Dry slot ! No excuses-right ?

A storm tracking from Ohio into the Buffalo area this evening.

We had an initial burst of snow…some areas-esp north picked up 1-3″

Then a brief lull.

Milder air is moving up the coast-so the next batch of precip with be snow to a mix-and in some cases-plain rain-esp from the Capital Region southward.

A BIG Dry slot arrives around midnight-so this storm will end quickly.
