Jared Phillips is a Sports Reporter for NEWS10 ABC and is excited to be back in the northeast! Jared started his career in Springfield, IL, working for Channel1450.com as a sports reporter covering local high school sports in Central IL. His two and a half years there opened his eyes to the passion small communities have for local sports, and he hopes to capture more of that same passion telling stories in the Capital Region.
Originally from Coatesville, PA, Jared received a degree in broadcast journalism from Temple University in Philadelphia in 2017. Between opportunities during his time in school and after, Jared has had the chance to cover College GameDay between Temple and Notre Dame, the 2017 NFL Draft, and the College World Series. He cannot wait for more great coverage opportunities that await him coming to Albany.
Outside of covering sports, Jared spends his free time listening to and discovering new music, exploring the best spots to grab a bite and a drink around the city, and will never turn down some pickup hoops. He is happy to chat if you see him out at any local sporting events!
