Christina Arangio, a Long Island native, is the morning/noon anchor for NEWS10ABC. She has also worked as an anchor/reporter at the ABC affiliates in Orlando, Florida and in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and has more than 27 years of experience in the business.
She has received numerous awards for her reporting, including six for breaking news. Most recently, Christina was honored with a regional Edward R. Murrow award along with her morning team for their breaking news coverage of “Havoc on the Hudson” when boats and barges broke free threatening public safety. The coverage also earned the team a New York State Emmy nomination.
She has anchored live breaking news coverage of the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster in Central Florida and covered the devastating aftermath of tornadoes and hurricanes. She covered President Obama’s visit to Schenectady, co-anchored live continuous coverage of Tropical Storm Irene and co-anchored NEWS10abc’s presidential coverage of President Obama’s trip to UAlbany. She also covered the visit of Pope Francis to New York City with live reports from Manhattan.
Christina is a strong inclusion advocate for her son with Down Syndrome and shares her son’s journey to help others. She is also committed to raising awareness about the need for brain tumor research given her family’s personal connection. Her life experiences have given her perspective and purpose. Christina loves her job and cherishes the time she spends with her husband, daughter and son.
