Absolutely crazy weather to start the Holiday weekends. A powerful Nor'Easter off the NH coast came to a halt today. The end result…windy-cold and wet. Some heavy wet snow fell at elevations above 3,000 feet. Reports of 4-8" High spots of the Catskills/Adirondacks/Green Mountains. Even some wet snow in the High spots around Albany.
Today the High Temp in Albany was 47…this is a RECORD Low High Temperature for the date. It shattered the old record of 51 dating back to 1967. By the way, rainfall over the past 5 days is at 4.5" for Albany with many locations now over 5".
As for the rest of the Holiday weekend….no changes tonight…wet. The storm slowly pulls east tomorrow…so slight improvements from SW to NE in the afternoon. Temps will be at least 10 degrees warmer than they were today. Head west of Schoharie County for brighter sun by late afternoon. It will still be rather windy from the NW.
By Memorial Day Monday, we will all enjoy MUCH Better weather with more sunshine and temperatures getting up close to 70 !
