The man who Troy police say killed his baby boy, pleaded not guilty to murder charges in court on Monday.
26-year-old Adrian Thomas, Sr. allegedly threw four-month old, mathew thomas, down on a bed and crib repeatedly... Causing the boy head injuries, that he later died from.
NEWS10 obtained a statement that police say Thomas gave, in which it detailed his actions against the child.
Thomas's public defender, Jerome Frost, told reporters that the statement should not be considered voluntary, and that Thomas did not cause the baby's death.
"We dispute the cause of death of Mr. Thomas' baby, Matthew. We dispute it. And I wish I had a nickel for every time the pathologist got the cause of death wrong," Frost said.
The Six other children that Thomas shared with wife Wilhemina Hicks are now in the custody of Child Protective Services.
