ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 3, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Ten Thousand Villages, a fair trade retailer in Old Town Alexandria, is planning to open a second location in the District of Columbia in 2015. To help raise the needed capital, they are hosting an International Cocktail Party on September 18.
The event will feature local farmers, brewers, and restaurants, all teaming up to bring the non-profit fair trade retailer to DC.
"Opening a second store is a huge undertaking," admitted Mike Wenger, chair of the new store committee and Vice Chair of the store's volunteer board of directors. "But the Alexandria store was opened by a group of dedicated volunteers, and the store is celebrating 20 years this fall! So we are confident that our new store in the District will be just as successful."
The event will be held from 6-8:00 pm at the AutoAlliance, 803 7th Street, NW, Suite 300. Tickets are $50 each and can be purchased at the Villages DC website: www.VillagesDC.org.
