ALBANY, N.Y. -- A 37-year-old Green Island man has pleaded guilty to a February bank robbery.

Richard Lenyk pleaded guilty to one felony count of robbery in Albany County Court Wednesday morning.

On February 7, 2014, Lenyk entered a Bank of America in Watervliet and demanded money from the teller, according to police. The teller thought that he had a weapon in his jacket pocket, and handed over approximately $1,325 to him. Lenyk then left the bank in a taxi cab.

An investigation by the Watervliet Police Department led to his identification and arrest. He faces 1 ½ to 4 ½ years in state prison when sentenced on September 17, 2014.
