Cat rescued from Rotterdam house fire

ROTTERDAM, N.Y. - Crews worked overnight to battle a house fire in Rotterdam.

Flames could be seen coming from the second floor of the home, located on Mercer Avenue.

The fire broke out around 1 a.m. on Wednesday. The Carman Fire Chief says no one was hurt in the fire, but crews had trouble getting to it because the house sits back off the road.

A family cat was rescued from the home.

The cause of that fire is still being investigated.
