Power has been restored to Albany, Greene Counties

ALBANY, N.Y. – Power has been restored after sporadic outages hit parts of Albany County and Greene County on Monday evening.

National Grid and Central Hudson customers were affected by the outage. Residents and businesses were in the dark for more than three hours as crews worked to restore power. 

As many as 18,000 customers in Albany and Greene Counties were affected.

Central Hudson restored power as of 1 a.m. Tuesday morning.

The outage is still under investigation, but officials believe it may have been caused by a down wire phase.

According to a Central Hudson Gas and Electric representative as many as 16,000 customers in Albany and Greene County were affected by the outage.
