DEC releases air quality report around Ezra Prentice Homes

Posted:

ALBANY, N.Y. – An air quality report around the Ezra Prentice Homes was released by the state Department of Environmental Conservation Thursday.

The report said “no unusual results” were found in air quality tests around the Ezra Prentice Homes in Albany.

The residential area is where oil tanker cars from the Port of Albany often sit on nearby train tracks.

The DEC said the testing showed that Benzene levels were lower than the state average. There have been concerns about the quality of the air and general safety of the area as more crude oil shipments move through the port.
