Annual campaign kicked off to benefit adults with muscle disease

ALBANY, N.Y.—To celebrate their 60 year partnership, members of the 26 Capital District Fire Fighter Unions, New York State Professional Fire Fighter Association, and the Muscular Dystrophy Association kicked off the annual Fill the Boot campaign.

The fundraising campaign was started to benefit children and adults who are affected by muscle disease in the Albany area.

A two part press conference will take place on Thursday, August 14 at 11 a.m. in front of the New York State Professional Fire Fighters Association Building with a City of Albany Mayoral Proclamation.

The second part of the press conference will be a Media Blitz conference with officials from the fire fighters association and community leaders from the Capital Region.

Local IAFF fire departments, New York State Professional Fire Fighters Association President Michael McManus, Secretary Treasurer Sam Fresina, and 1st District Vice President Bill Romaka will all be in attendance.
