COHOES N.Y. – Three people have been arrested, accused of tricking an elderly woman into signing her home over to them.

The Cohoes Police Department announced Friday the arrest of three subjects on sealed indictments handed up by an Albany County Grand Jury.

The arrests stem from a two-month investigation by Cohoes Detectives in conjunction with the Albany County District Attorney’s Financial Crimes Bureau. Detectives were alerted through the City Treasurer’s office of possible irregularities involving a property owned by an elderly City of Cohoes resident.

During an investigation, it was discovered that three defendants conspired together to take advantage of the elderly victim by tricking the victim into signing paperwork transferring ownership of her longtime family home over to the defendants.

The signed paperwork was subsequently filed with the Albany County Clerk and ownership of the victim’s house was transferred to the two female defendants. The two female defendants worked as aides to the elderly victim and, over the course of time, earned her trust.

The accused are Delia Price, 68, of Cohoes, Lauran Parker, 74, of Watervliet and Michael O’Brien, 43, also of Watervliet. All have been indicted on charges of conspiracy, and both Price and Parker face a grand larceny charge.

All three were arrested, arraigned in Albany County Court and remanded to the Albany County Jail pending further court action.
