SALEM, N.Y. -  The Washington County Sheriff's Office has named a new K-9 after a beloved member of the department.

K-9 Brucha has been training with her handler, Deputy Travis Earl. Brucha is named in honor of the late Sr. Investigator Bruce Hamilton and is working towards earning her shield.

Hamilton died suddenly in June at the age of 55. He worked with the Washington County Sheriff's Office for 27 years, heading investigations into a number of high profile homicides and fatal accidents.
