Missing teen spotted in Capital Region, Gloversville PD continue search

GLOVERSVILLE, N.Y. – Police say a teenager is still missing although there have been reported sightings of her.

According to Gloversville Police, Destiny Persen, 15, has been missing since July 26. Police say there have been sightings of the girl in Gloversville, Amsterdam, and Schenectady. She was last located after she attempted to obtain a ride to the Syracuse area.  

Persen is described to be a Hispanic female, approximately 5’4” and weighing 110 pounds, with brown hair and eyes.  She has a tattoo on her abdomen which reads “Live Life with no Regrets”.  

According to authorities, the teen has been reported missing numerous times since November of 2013.

On Tuesday, a family member told authorities that they spotted Persen near a Dunkin Donuts on Second Avenue in Gloversville around 7:30 p.m.  However, when the teen noticed her family, she fled the area on foot, running across Route 30A, toward Francis Street.  

Persen was wearing a black shirt with tan pants with cuts in them and a pair of DC shoes.  She also stated that it appeared that she had cut her hair shoulder length.
