Police investigate scene of a car in Quackenkill Creek

CROPSEYVILLE, N.Y. – State police say a car went off the road and into the Quackenkill Creek on Sunday morning.

Police say the driver was traveling westbound on Route 2 in his vehicle when he missed a turn, drove into a guard rail, and ended up in the creek.

Police tell NEWS10ABC that the car is currently stuck about 35 feet down under a bridge.

There was only one person in the vehicle at the time of the accident. He has been taken away in an ambulance.

Route 2 is still open, but traffic is slow due to emergency vehicles at the scene.

Troop G State police are investigating the accident.
