Schenectady releases dogs with history of attacks

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The city of Schenectady released and lost track of two dogs that previously fatally attacked a small dog.

On June 30, the two dogs owned by Sean McKearn of Dean Street left the home through a window and fatally attacked a 24-pound terrier mix that was being walked by his owner, according to Assemblyman Jim Tedisco.

Tedisco said the two dogs were involved in two previous attacks on people and pets.

According to Tedisco, the city released the dogs to McKearn with the promise that they would be kept at a veterinary clinic; however, the location of the dogs is currently unknown.
