State Police: Operator of historic restaurant is charged with arson
LIVINGSTON, N.Y. - The operator of a historic Columbia County restaurant is accused setting fire to the landmark, say State Police.
Darrin Buffa, operator of the Blue Store Restaurant, was arrested on Tuesday for the March 15 fire that destroyed his restaurant. State Police Troop K says he has been charged with arson in the third degree, a felony.
While Buffa operated the restaurant, he does not own the building.
More than 15 fire departments responded to the March blaze.
The restaurant was built in 1804 and it was a historic landmark. Most of the building was destroyed.
