ARGYLE, N.Y. -- State Police in Washington County are investigating an Argyle accident that left one man critically injured.
The accident occurred at about 4:30 p.m at the intersection of ST-40 and CR-49 in the Town of Argyle on Thursday when an un-involved vehicle being driven by a 17-year old pulled out from the stop sign on CR-49 into the path of a ’97 Jeep Wrangler being driven by 19-year old Dillon Henderson of Ft. Edward, who was northbound on ST-40.
Henderson avoided contact with the first vehicle, but struck the guide rail when the swerved to the right, resulting in his losing control of the Jeep and driving into a ditch on the right shoulder. The Jeep then struck a stone wall and rolled onto its roof. Both the driver and his front seat passenger wearing seat belts and suffered very minor injuries. The rear seat passenger, 21-year old Timothy Conine of Ft. Edward, was not wearing a seat belt and suffered massive head trauma.
After being treated at the scene by Argyle EMS, Conine was airlifted to Albany Medical Center where he is currently listed in critical condition.
