JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL - Multiple cars were involved in a wreck on Center Point Parkway following a chase involving Jefferson County Sheriff's Deputies.

The wreck happened just after 7:30 Thursday night when a deputy attempted to stop a car at 4th Street NW and Huffman Road in Center Point. The driver of the car would not stop, and led authorities on a chase. The chase continued to Parkway East until the suspect vehicle collided with two other cars.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office says four people ran from the original car. One of the suspects was taken into custody.

A large amount of cash was discovered inside the car. Deputies later learned the suspects had just robbed a Birmingham ABC Store.

While some injuries were reported, none were considered life threatening.

We'll update this story as more information becomes available.
