State Police: Groom accused of assaulting guest at wedding
BRUNSWICK, N.Y. - State Police have arrested a groom after he allegedly assaulted a guest at his own wedding reception.
State Police in Brunswick say they were contacted by a man on Monday who stated he was a guest at a wedding over the weekend and that he had been assaulted.
The victim said the incident happened on Saturday in Hoosick Falls. He explained to police that he and the groom, David Labrie, 45, had a verbal argument that turned physical, according to authorities.
The argument allegedly turned violent and the victim says Labrie punched him several times in the face.
State Police say the victim sustained a cut to his face which did require stitches. He also had two chipped teeth and bruises to the face as a result of the alleged assault.
Troopers contacted Labrie who surrendered himself at the Brunswick barracks. He was processed and released on an appearance ticket.
