2 LI firefighters injured in crash

BELLMORE, N.Y. (AP) - Two North Bellmore firefighters were injured, one critically, in a crash while responding to a call of an automobile accident on Long Island.

Nassau County police say a fire chief vehicle collided with a Jeep driven by a volunteer firefighter in Bellmore Sunday afternoon.

The firefighter was ejected from his Jeep and sustained head and neck injuries. He was listed in critical but stable condition.

Newsday (http://nwsdy.li/1oW9lmU ) says the other firefighter, identified as a department chief, suffered knee and back injuries. He was treated and released.
