Police: Driver believed car was in reverse before she drove through store windows

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - A car drove through the front windows of a store in Schenectady, say police.

According to Schenectady Police, they are investigating an incident that happened around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. They say a car drove through the front windows of a Dollar General store on Broadway.

Authorities say the vehicle was being driven by an older woman, who told police that she believed her car was in reverse when it was actually in drive, causing her to drive through the windows.

Four aisles of merchandise were smashed, including a cooler that was filled with ice cream.

The driver suffered minor injuries. She was taken to the hospital for evaluation.

Police say there are no arrests and no tickets have been issued.
