State Police: Man drove drunk towards Mohawk River for 'nostalgia'
MOHAWK, N.Y. - State Police have arrested a Montgomery County man for driving with a BAC that was nearly more than three times the legal limit.
State Police say they arrested the man on Saturday morning after he stop his vehicle in an area near the Mohawk River in the Town of Mohawk.
According to authorities, Shaun Schriner, 45, was arrested and charged with misdemeanor aggravated DWI. Troopers say the observed him driving into the Town of Mohawk Department gravel storage area just shortly after midnight.
When Troopers asked both Schriner and his passenger why they were in the area at that time of night, they allegedly stated they were coming from dinner and heading down towards the river for “nostalgia” purposes.
Police say a breath test revealed Schriner’s BAC was .22-percent, almost three times the legal limit.
