MEDFORD, N.Y. (AP) - A man is jailed without bail after being arraigned on a murder charge in the death of a Long Island mother whose body was found in the woods.
Prosecutors say cell phone records, a palm print and blood tie Dante Taylor to the disappearance and death of 21-year-old Sarah Goode.
The 19-year-old Taylor was arrested Thursday on an unrelated warrant in Vero Beach, Florida.
Prosecutors revealed in court that Goode had been raped and beaten and her hair cut off in her car window. They said a piece of metal was found in her skull.
Goode's relatives were shocked but relieved at the developments. One relative was escorted from court after angrily yelling at him.
Taylor's lawyer says his client feels "heartfelt sympathies and prayers" for Goode and her family.
