Albany man found guilty in Bank Robbery Trial

ALBANY, N.Y.—An Albany man was found guilty after a jury trial on Thursday.

Don-Lee Grayson, 45, was found guilty of one count of Robbery in the first degree.

Grayson displayed what appeared to be a firearm on July 16, 2012 at the Key Bank on New Scotland Avenue in Albany and demanded money. He left the bank with an envelope containing a sum of US Currency and a dye pack the teller put in the envelope.

The dye pack exploded shortly after Grayson left the bank. He then went to a different bank and attempted to trade in the money, but the bank refused.

Grayson also attempted to pay his rent with the stained money, which was not accepted by the landlords bank. The landlord then turned the money over to the Colonie Police Department.

Analysis of the video surveillance from the two banks led to the capture of Grayson.
