ALBANY, N.Y. – A 21-year-old man pleaded guilty Tuesday to robbery charges after he allegedly stole property from and injured an 89-year-old woman.
Daniel Decenzo, of Albany, pleaded guilty to one felony count of robbery in the second degree in Albany County Supreme Court.
Authorities say he forcibly stole property and caused physical injury to the woman on May 19, 2014 in the area of New Scotland Avenue and Quail Street in the City of Albany, when he forcibly stole the victim’s purse and threw her to ground. Bystanders were able to aid the woman and call for help.
He faces up to 7 years in state prison, to be followed by 3 years of Post-Release Supervision, when sentenced on September 9, 2014.
