Man accused of identity theft against 77-year-old victim
HAGUE, N.Y. - The Warren County Sheriff's Office says they arrested a 19-year-old for identity theft.
According to authorities, Tyler Proud was arrested on July 1 following a police investigation.
The investigation revealed that Proud has allegedly used the account information for the checking account of a 77-year-old in order to make online payments to Proud's cred card account. Proud is accused of taking more than $3,000.
The Sheriff's Office says Proud is familiar with the victim.
He has been arrested for identity theft in the first degree, a felony. Proud was arraigned in Queensbury Town Court and remanded to the Warren County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $5,000 secured bond.
