Ukrainian Immigrant and California Businessman Igor Pasternak Celebrates Resolution in Sacramento Recognizing National Guard Partnership with Ukraine
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) July 03, 2014
This morning, California lawmakers heard resolution HR 45, which highlighted a successful 21-year partnership between the California National Guard (CNG) and the European country of Ukraine. Igor Pasternak, CEO of Aeroscraft Corporation and chief engineer of the Aeroscraft, was recognized on the floor for his support of this resolution.
Its important to see the powerful state of California taking action to strategically partner with Ukraine, one of our most important European allies, in providing them with the right tools to help strengthen their military capabilities and political framework, says Mr. Pasternak. I am grateful to Assemblyman Matt Dababneh for his leadership on this resolution, and thankful to Brigadier General Matthew Beevers and the Guardsmen and women under his command for the continued excellence and friendship toward the people of Ukraine.
Pasternak grew up in Ukraine and was educated in Kiev before immigrating to California in the early 1990s.
The CNG-Ukraine Partnership Program was formed in 1993, and is one of 65 National Guard State Partnership Programs. CNG and Ukraines strategic relationship has supported the re-restructuring and modernization of forces and information sharing during the past 20 years, as well as diplomatic leadership and consensus building among civilian populations. Ukrainian military members have traveled to California to participate in disaster-relief exercises with the California National Guard and California Guardsmen have been deployed to Ukraine for antiterrorism exercises.
Matt Dababneh, author of the resolution, stated to the National Guard he was honored to author a resolution that highlights how CNG is helping partner nations, reinforce military respect for civilian control and rule of law and create stable regions. He went on to say this partnership with Ukraine is a true testament to the professionalism and dedication of the CNG and the expertise they offer military personnel abroad.
CNG has conducted more than 300 leader engagements and multinational exercises for the past two decades.
Through the ongoing collaboration, California guardsmen are addressing a broad range of social, economic, military and political issues. The Partnership is currently focusing on strategic airlift collaboration, humanitarian assistance, human resources and personnel management, emergency response training, boarder security, English language training, development of the European Union Battle Group, as well as how to best leverage relationships with neighboring countries.
