State Police crackdown on intoxicated driving for holiday weekend

ALBANY, N.Y.—As police look to keep the roads safe for Fourth of July weekend, and extra patrols are expected.

State Police will be cracking down on intoxicated, distracted, and speeding drivers starting Thursday.

There will be more than 500 message boards reminding motorists not to drink and drive.

Governor Cuomo has reminded drivers of the dangers and severe penalties for these violations during one of the busiest travel weekends of the year.
