East Greenbush residents work to clean up damage from storm

EAST GREENBUSH, N.Y.—After a storm swept through the area Wednesday, East Greenbush was left with downed trees and destruction.

Many trees lost limbs, and in some cases, the entire tree came down.

Maureen Mulligan has lived in East Greenbush for 17 years and said no one was home when the storms destroyed her property.

“My poor neighbor is hit worse than we are,” said Mulligan.

Crews worked to remove a giant tree that cut the house in two. The owner said no one was hurt when the tree came down.

"Nobody was hurt, that's the most important part. We can always fix the trees,” said Mulligan.

Trees crashed down all over East Greenbush. One blocking East Greenbush resident, Jeff Watson’s driveway.

“I see things falling down, and I’m thinking ‘I hope not’,” said Watson.

Many others spent much of Wednesday evening assessing and trying to clean up their property.

“It’s going to take a little work to get it back to the way it was,” said Mulligan.
